Cue Finch is a local workspace for readers of interactive fiction. It brings together three authored decisions with three choices each and 27 paths; local journal and saved rehearsals. Visitors can choose a line, then read consequence, then turn page, then reach ending and save rehearsal. The interface keeps its working actions close to their context, so the next decision is visible. Authored fiction, not psychology, prediction, scoring or a simulation of real people.

The Empty Chair Remembers the Morning
Interactive stories often announce consequence with a dramatic branch. An ordinary promise can do the same work more quietly. If a chair has been saved for you at night, a sentence spoken in the morning has already changed the room.
Each decision remains in the story state after the scene changes. The journal makes that continuity visible, and the ending can refer back to an earlier promise. Replaying is therefore more than pressing a reset button: changing one choice lets the reader examine a different causal route through a familiar evening. Local saves preserve versions for later comparison.
The spare chair gives the story a physical memory. It is an ordinary object that can acquire meaning because the reader made a promise earlier. That is a more specific kind of consequence than a generic good or bad ending. Cue Finch keeps the journal visible so the route to that consequence can be followed. Its 27 paths belong to an authored evening; they are variations to read, not evidence about how a real neighbour would behave.
Offer to help, promise to attend, or keep the evening open. None of those sentences is a personality type. They are different ways to begin a fictional day. Rehearse again after an ending. Change the morning and notice what the evening carries differently. Curiosity is more useful here than optimizing a score.
